The cast in the finale "Look On The Bright Side of Life" from Spamalot
The raves continue to pour in about the 2 sold-out nights of "ENCORE - Key West Showstoppers at the Waterfront Playhouse. Over 25 of Key West's most beloved performers performed in solos, duets, group numbers and a grand finale featuring the entire cast onstage. The Waterfront's Artistic Director, Danny Weathers coordinated the concerts, with musical direction by guest accompanist Robert Strickland from Atlanta and Skipper Kripitz on percussion and Joe Dallas on bass. The depth of talent that our bit of Paradise holds was the most amazing aspect of all with each artist giving a stellar performance. The most frequent refrain post-performance was that there should be an encore of ENCORE!
Here's what George Fontana of Conch Color had to say about ENCORE:
"Everyone talks about the remarkable concertration of first-rate talent in Key West. Last year, the Waterfront Playhouse decided to do something about it...the response was an event that would knock the socks off even the most jaded theater devotee....Each performer was at the top of his/her form and the audience was the benficiary of the heightened focus and artistry...Bravo Waterfront Playhouse. "Encore" has become an instant Key West showbiz tradition."
