BROADWAY WITH A TWIST:
THE SEASON OPENING CONCERT
WHAT:
The Waterfront Playhouse kicks off its Platinum 70th Season with a talent-packed, two night concert: BROADWAY WITH A TWIST. This gender-bending evening will feature over 30 of Key West's best performers. The ladies will perform numbers made famous on Broadway by male stars, and the guys will reciprocate with well-known female diva numbers.
WHEN:
The Friday, November 20 concert features a gala post-performance party catered by the Elwell family's Iron Chefs and their fabulous catering. The ticket price is $70 (for 70 years of great theater in the Keys).
The Saturday, November 21 tickets will be $50. Same great concert, but no party.
WHO:
Starring: David Black, Laurie Breakwell, Melody Cooper Joy Hawkins, Mary Falconer, Maj Johnson Michael McCabe, Bruce Moore, Mike Mulligan, Bobby Nesbitt, Marjorie Paul-Shook, Randy Roberts, Carmen Rodriguez, Gordon Ross, Vicki Roush, Dean Walters, Danny Weathers, John Wells, Henry Woods, Scott Zimmerman and other guest singers. Guest conductor Robert Strickland from Atlanta will once again accompany the singers, with Joe Dallas on bass and Skipper Kripitz on percussion.
WOW:
The concert will feature numbers from the greatest hits of Broadway: A Chorus Line, Gypsy, Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Grease, Chicago, Damn Yankees, Follies, Sweeney Todd, Annie, Man of La Mancha, Les Miserables and many, many more. The show will feature solos and group numbers and several surprises that are not to be missed.

EVERYBODY'S GIRL
A Concert With Vicki Roush
The Waterfront Playhouse proudly presents the inimitable Vicki Roush in EVERYBODY'S GIRL a one-night only concert on January 15 at 8 pm. One of Key West's most beloved singers and personalities, Vick is a powerhouse vocalist that's sure to blow the roof off. She's performed on all of the stages of Key West, as well as clubs, bars, boites and the occasional street corner. She has appeared at the Waterfront in numerous productions, including OLYMPUS ON MY MIND, LOOKIN' UP, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and many others. She has also appeared in the Waterfront's Sondheim concert, ENCORE! and this year's BROADWAY WITH A TWIST. She has also performed at the Red Barn in FALSETTOLAND, COLE and the various incarnations of NUNSENSE. She also appeared in FOLLIES with the Key West Pops.
“Everybody's Girl” will consist of blues, pop, show tunes, rock and country. Ms. Roush can handle all genres (well, Christian rock might be a stretch), and she certainly knows her way around a lyric. As with all-things-Roush, there will also be political points made, as well as naughty bits. It will be an unforgettable evening that will also feature a post-performance party with a catered buffet.
Vicki's musical director is Michael Fauss, who has been the musical director of the Waterfront's REEFER MADNESS, URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS and NAKED BOYS SINGING! He will also be the musical director for the upcoming THE FULL MONTY. Vicki's special guest will be Danny Weathers, artistic director of the Waterfront.
The concert is sure to sell-out, so don't delay!
