Alison Teal

Alison Teal, a graduate of Smith College and the Bank Street Graduate School of Education, has been a writer, journalist and photographer. Early in her career, she worked for the New York Council for The Humanities, Hunter Arts, the New York Board of Estimates and in the office of the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development where she was a speech writer. She had a weekly column in the Sunday Magazine of the Denver Post and has written for the New York Times, Huffington Post, and Atlantic Magazine. She also worked as a professional photographer, specializing in photojournalism. She and her husband have been active in government and politics for the last fifty years. Ms. Teal has served on the boards of the Berkeley Repertory Theater, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Denver International Film Festival and Aspen Public Radio. She has been coming to Key West for 25 years and is delighted to now own a house here and be involved in the Waterfront Playhouse.
