Vincent Zito

Musical Director

Vincent hails from New Jersey where he earned degrees from New York University and Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts. He studied conducting with Laszlo Halasz, the founder of the New York City Opera and he worked extensively in the Northeast, directing and conducting musical theatre and opera before moving to Key West in 1993.

In Key West he has worked for the Waterfront Playhouse (Olympus On My Mind, Moscow), Red Barn Theatre, The Founders’ Society and the Keys Chorale.

He was the founder and artistic director of the Key West Pops Orchestra (1999 – 2013) and co-founder and artistic director of Island Opera from 2001 to 2007.
