Member of the Board

Originally hailing from Washington DC, Kate moved to New York City, after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill … for what was supposed to be a short stay.

Four decades later, in April 2012 Kate retired from her position in Citigroup’s Global Corporate Investment Bank where she managed credit and treasury management needs for the large technology corporations.  Earlier, her career included corporate customers in the financial institutions sector as well as the transportation industry. Prior to working at Citigroup, she began her career at Mutual of New York in the Group Pension business where she managed administration of the nonprofit tax sheltered annuity portfolio. Her professional licenses have included FINRA Series 6, 7 and 63 as well as AFP’s Certified Treasury Manager.

After visiting family over the years, Kate and her husband fell in love with Key West and decided to purchase a home here in 2009. Kate has lived in New York City and Amagansett, New York since 1970, has been married 38 years to her husband, Ken Silverman, and has one daughter. Her other interests include scuba diving, skiing, running and biking.

This is Kate’s second term as a Board Member and she looks forward to a continued involvement with an outstanding and highly successful organization and to an awesome 75^th Waterfront Playhouse season!
