NEEDED: 1 woman. 30 to late 40s.
LOOKING FOR: Actresses with a good sense of comic timing. Also able to learn large chunks of lines
PRODUCTION DATES: April 28 to May 16 (3 weeks, Wed. to Sat. each week)
AUDITION: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
OVERVIEW: This funny, poignant play traces playwright, Elizabeth Fuller’s, true-life account of the events of the summer of 1985, when screen legend, Bette Davis, came to the Fuller’s home in Connecticut to stay for one night and ended up staying for a month creating hilarious upheaval.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
LIZ (ELIZABETH FULLER) – Female, 30’s to late 40’s. A writer who lives with her husband and young son in Westport, Connecticut. Liz is dazzled by Miss Davis, but she has to juggle the needs of her husband (who wants Bette out of the house), her impressionable son (who begins to imitate Bette) and the endless demands of the diva herself. During the course of Bette’s stay, Liz learns new strength within herself, as well as how to assert herself.
THE ROLE OF BETTE DAVIS WILL BE PLAYED BY CHRISTOPHER PETERSON.

"With the theatre located On The Edge of the water as well as most productions chosen and designed to be performed On The Edge of the stage, it seemed like a winning title", said Managing Artistic Director Tom Thayer. Although a few productions, such as the upcoming musical The Rocky Horror Show will have more production value, the majority of productions, such as Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Informer, Bash, and Trunk Material 2 are created and designed to be performed simply.
