Lauren Thompson

Lauren (Magenta) was born and raised in Key West. As a fifth generation local her family has been steeped in the Key West experience for as long as they can remember. She always dreamed of being in movies or on the stage. As a child she can remember being disappointed with her parents for not taking her to the audition for the movie Flipper that was shot on location in Marathon during her elementary years. But, alas, life and all of its things got in the way. She left Key West to attend college and rarely looked back. Though she did not become a lawyer as her father had wanted, she did have the pleasure of traveling the world for 7 years on Mega Yachts and then an additional 6 years on her own boat. With her husband, Troy, by her side they lived on a 48 foot ketch rig sailboat, traveling through the Bahamas, and Caribbean, and finally finding a home in St. John. Unfortunately, there was not much in the way of theater down island, however, Lauren spent her time honing her voice, playing with a myriad of bands and musicians on the island during their time there. Then… baby makes 3. Her and her husband brought her beautiful son, Rowan, into this world. Being the conch that she was, like a turtle ready to nest, she found her way home. And that is where our story begins… the theater story anyway. Acting, directing, choreographing, teaching, you name it, she’s doing it. And she couldn’t be happier. She finally found her home, within her home.
