Nov 3, 2019 - Nov 11, 2019
On November 3, the Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square, will present their second foray into the works of Bertolt Brecht. The Informer, is one of several short plays that Brecht wrote. A little different in style, it is the story of a German teacher and his wife and the paranoia that seeps into their otherwise
quiet life when their son, a member of the Hitler Youth, disappears.
What secrets will he tell? How will their life change? Directed by John McDonald, who directed last seasons The Jewish Wife, along with Red Speedo, it will feature Barbara Mundy as the wife, Steve Miller as the husband, local student Dre Cooper as the son and Irene Dahlgren as the maid. Munday has appeared in New York productions of Sordid Lives (Duplex), Striptease (Midtown Theatre Festival) as well as tours of The King and I and Hello, Dolly. Steve Miller has appeared at the Waterfront in last season’s Peter and the Starcatcher, Red Speedo and The Laramie Project. Key West High student Dre Cooper has been active in Camp Bravo and appeared in the Waterfront Youth Theatre production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Rena Dahlgren will stage manage as well as play the role of the maid. Dahlgren appeared on stage in The Trip to Bountiful.
It will play at 7pm November 3,4,10,11. Following the show, a question/answer session will feature the cast, director and members of the community.

“THE BEST PROFESSIONAL
THEATER IN FLORIDA”
The Award winning Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square, is please to announce their On The Edge series. "With the theatre located On The Edge of the water as well as most productions chosen and designed to be performed On The Edge of the stage, it seemed like a winning title", said Managing Artistic Director Tom Thayer. Although a few productions, such as the upcoming musical The Rocky Horror Show will have more production value, the majority of productions, such as Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Informer, Bash, and Trunk Material 2 are created and designed to be performed simply.
Another difference in On The Edge productions is the time.
