Konk Life LOVES the Kinsey Sicks

Reviewer Diane Johnson had one complaint about the Kinsey Sicks: “My only wish is that this internationally acclaimed production would stay in town for a couple of weeks, not just days. In fact, why wait until Pride Week to bring in the Kinsey Sicks for 3 days? They should make an annual pilgrimage to Key West and stay awhile.” Well, they can’t — so tonight is your last chance to see this incredible troupe. June 8 (8 PM) at the Waterfront Playhouse in Key West.

The Kinsey Sicks Come to the Waterfront Playhouse

The Kinsey Sicks, America’s Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet, will celebrate Key West Pride June 6, 7 & 8 at the Waterfront Playhouse. The internationally recognized singing group will perform their hilarious over-the-top musical, “America’s Next Top Bachelor Housewife Celebrity Hoarder Makeover Star Gone Wild”. In this brilliant reality send-up, we find Rachel, Winnie, Trixie and Trampolina in the jungle, trying their best to score at challenges that involve singing, dancing, dating, dieting and, of course, large insects. The New York Times praises their “voices sweet as birdsong” and Variety calls them “one act that should not be missed.” The San Francisco Chronicle says, “Their mangling of hit songs hits genius level.” Call the box office now for tickets (305-294-5015) or visit the Waterfront website (WaterfrontPlayhouse.org).

A DEATH IN MEXICO IS “BRUTAL AS THE KICK OF RAW MESCAL…POWERFUL.” (Publishers Weekly)

A voluptuous artist’s model is murdered in the central plaza of a colonial Mexican town. Inspector Hector Diaz’s murder investigation takes him deep into the town’s gringo expat colony, a modern Mexico corrupted by greed and drugs and the byways and dead-ends of love and lust. Natalie wants to investigate the obvious suicide of a self-help guru, while solving the death of a clown could prove to be the most important case of Monk’s career, despite his fear of clowns. If there’s one time when these two need to learn how to be full partners, this is it.
