Key West, FL — The Waterfront Playhouse presents “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani, beginning with a preview on January 28, opening on January 29, and running through February 14, with a special matinee performance on February 7.
Set in a small, remote town in northern Maine, “Almost, Maine” unfolds through a series of tender, funny, and quietly surprising vignettes about love in all its forms. On one cold winter night, as the Northern Lights hover overhead, neighbors and strangers alike find themselves falling in and out of love, discovering what it means to open their hearts — and what it takes to hold on.
The production stars Waterfront Playhouse favorites Mathias Maloff, Cassidy Timms, and Melanie Keller, and introduces Rudy Galvan in his Waterfront Playhouse debut. Together, the ensemble brings warmth, humor, and authenticity to Cariani’s beloved collection of interconnected stories.
Set against a beautiful and evocative design by resident designer Michael Boyer, director Patrick New’s staging reflects the truth, intimacy, magic, and love at the heart of these extraordinary stories. The result is a heartfelt evening of theatre that celebrates connection, vulnerability, and the quiet moments that define our lives.
Performances take place at the Waterfront Playhouse, 407 Wall Street. Tickets and additional information are available at waterfrontplayhouse.org.

The Award winning Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square, is please to announce their On The Edge series. "With the theatre located On The Edge of the water as well as most productions chosen and designed to be performed On The Edge of the stage, it seemed like a winning title", said Managing Artistic Director Tom Thayer. Although a few productions, such as the upcoming musical The Rocky Horror Show will have more production value, the majority of productions, such as Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Informer, Bash, and Trunk Material 2 are created and designed to be performed simply.
Another difference in On The Edge productions is the time.
